Saving money while in college.
How to torch your bank account
First thing you do is buy is everything you want, instead of what you need. Like you get a job and want a new car, one is cheap but runs good and the other in expensive, which one do you get? The expensive one that looks nice of course. You don't want people seeing you in some old car. Or instead of buying a few beers and drinking at home you go to the bar instead.
Food is amazing, and who likes saving money and cooking at home? Nobody, right? Then, eat all the fancy food you want, go to red lobster, or a five star steak house. You also like expensive clothes so don't go online looking for the best deal, go to the mall buy everything you want spend more than you even have in your bank account whats it matter? You can just put it all on credit and pay back triple what the clothes actually costed.
Now that you have basically no money go fill out all the credit cards you can who needs a good credit score anyway? That's just something for old people I think? I have never needed it so as long as I pay the minimum payment it will be fine.
Well it is time for you to move out and buy a house but you already wrecked your credit from all the other stuff you had bought and couldn't afford. so you cant even get a loan from anyone. You cant payback your credit cards you can only work part time cause you're in college. So what do you do now? well you drop out of college so you can pay back all the bills and get a job full time.
Now you've ruined your career you have student loans and a pile of credit cards to pay. It is that simple to ruin your dreams. Your probably kicking yourself in the ass now wishing you listened to what your parents said, But there is something you can do about it.
So what you really need to do is be cheap like really cheap until you graduate. Do not get a credit card at all. Eat at home if you can and only go out to eat maybe once a week. Have fun without spending money. So in conclusion do not listen to anything in that first paragraph. Those are literally the worst mistakes to make. It is stuff almost everybody does and if you can stay away from it you will have a head start on really saving and keeping money in the bank.
The way I look at it if you cant afford to buy it two times and still have money then you don't buy it, besides stuff like houses because you cant buy two house in cash unless your like Bill Gates or something.
